“Housed in a traditional 25-foot trailer, the mobile hemp biodiesel unit can be moved very easily from site to site to maximize output. XTRM is positioning itself to become one of the, if not the, first company to market a dedicated mobile hemp-to-biodiesel unit.”

Why No Parent Should Support CBD-only Legislation
Vanessa Waltz

In recent weeks, there has been an explosion of newly proposed legislation on CBD-rich cannabis extracts, the type of medical marijuana featured as a treatment for epilepsy in Sanjay Gupta’s “Weed” special in the summer of 2013. Parents fighting for the lives of their epileptic children are desperate for treatment that works, and the power with which these parents can fight should not be underestimated. One would imagine their strong voices would be a huge boon to the reform movement, but instead what has happened is the creation of a great divide: CBD-only vs. whole plant medical marijuana. And in the pediatric cannabis advocacy community, the debate has gotten really ugly.
While advocates for broader medical marijuana legislation often cite a “no child left behind” policy – meaning that children with cancer, autism, and other conditions would respond better to medicine with higher levels of THC – there is another part of the debate that has been largely missing from the media coverage:
According to parents who have been effectively treating their children’s epilepsy with cannabis for years, CBD-rich extracts alone are unlikely to provide adequate seizure control without THC supplementation.

Why do some moms choose marijuana during pregnancy?
by Monica Beyer
Marijuana is currently against federal law, and although some states have legalized it for medical use (and some have gone even further and legalized it for recreational use), it remains taboo in many circles despite the fact that it’s considered to be less damaging than alcohol, which is a legal substance. However, its medicinal properties have been well-known for many years, and it is often used for pain and nausea relief. Some women have found massive improvement using cannabis during pregnancy, and we found out why.

Nevada to soon hire inspectors for medical marijuana operations
By TOM RAGAN – LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL
(File, Ted S. Warren/Associated Press)
Six inspectors and one supervisor will soon be hired to oversee dozens of expected medical marijuana dispensaries, grow houses and laboratories under Nevada’s new medical marijuana law, a state official said Thursday.
The positions are expected to be filled by March so the inspectors can begin training before the law’s regulations are finalized on April 1, said Marla McDade-Williams, deputy administrator for the state Division of Public and Behavioral Health, after a meeting of the Legislature’s Interim Finance Committee.
They will be in charge of regulating roughly 150 facilities, including the dispensaries themselves, she said.

Be a male, go to jail: US locks up nearly half of its young men
By Andrew Hiller

“A lot of these arrests have to do with marijuana, for example, right, and it’s going to be especially young folk and young males that don’t limit themselves to Jack Daniels as to the intoxicant of preference. You know in the cannabis world there’s Jack Herer that kind of has an iconic status and a lot of young folk go for Jack Herer over Jack Daniels. And they don’t understand why you can knock down a fifth of Jack Daniels with no legal consequences at all, with total impunity, but if you take even a toke of Jack Herer you can be arrested, locked up… you can get a record.”
